Police Arrest 60-Year-Old Who Hit Officer and Fled While Drunk Driving
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 60s who drove under the influence and hit a police officer before fleeing was caught by the police.
Seoul Dongjak Police Station announced on the 4th that they arrested a man in his 60s, Mr. A, on charges of dangerous driving causing injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Mr. A is accused of driving under the influence from Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul to the Incheon Airport Expressway at around 3:55 a.m. that day, hitting a police officer conducting a breathalyzer test and fleeing the scene.
The police officer was pursuing Mr. A, who was driving under the influence, and was injured when Mr. A tried to escape but was blocked. The officer sustained minor injuries.
At the time of arrest, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be at the level warranting license cancellation.

A police official explained, "We tracked and arrested Mr. A after receiving a cooperation request, and the detailed circumstances of the incident are being handled by the Incheon Western Police Station, which has jurisdiction."
