Mesh Korea Appoints Choi Byung-jun as COO to Lead Sustainable Growth
Choi Byung-jun, Distribution and Logistics Expert, Appointed as Head of Domestic Business Division and Newly Established COO Position
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Mesh Korea, the operator of 'Boorung,' announced on the 4th that it has established the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead solid growth and appointed Choi Byung-joon, the current head of the Domestic Business Division, as the person in charge.
Previously, Mesh Korea's organization was led by Chairman Yoo Jung-beom, with Choi Byung-joon heading the Domestic Business Division and Son Chang-hyun leading the MFC Business Division. With the establishment of the COO position, the new COO Choi Byung-joon will oversee the company's overall operations, including planning, management, and business.
COO Choi has 25 years of experience in strategy formulation and operations in online and offline distribution logistics, supply chain management (SCM), and quick commerce at companies such as Coupang, Woowa Brothers, Delivery Hero, Lotte Shopping, Homeplus, and Samsung C&T. Since joining Mesh Korea last year, he is credited with contributing to the company's growth from a delivery agency to a comprehensive distribution logistics company.
Mesh Korea explained that the reason for establishing the COO position and appointing Choi as COO is to shift from a growth-centered strategy to securing both growth and solid foundations going forward. The company plans to continue the approximately 78% average annual sales growth achieved from 2017 to 2021 while simultaneously pursuing profitability improvement.

COO Choi said, "I feel a great sense of responsibility in taking on the important task of capturing both growth and solid foundations for Mesh Korea," adding, "I will lead management innovation and reform, starting with improving business priorities, enhancing profitability by business, and securing core competitiveness." Immediately after his appointment, COO Choi launched the 'Turn-around Task Force Team (Turn-around TF),' a strategic organization to lead solid growth.
