O Do-chang, Yeongyang County Governor, Wins Best Award in Manifesto 'Local Election Promise Award'
Vision Realization Blueprint Recognized Externally
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Oh Do-chang, the mayor of Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, received the Grand Prize for the 'Manifesto Promise Award'.
Yeongyang-gun announced on the 3rd that it won the Grand Prize in the election publicity category at the '2022 Manifesto (Local Election Division) Promise Award' announced by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters on the 2nd.
This evaluation selected awardees by assessing a total of seven items through a full survey of the election pledges and election publicity materials of the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections. Mayor Oh ranked at the top.
Mayor Oh Do-chang was recognized for achievements including the 5·1·6 vision (budget of 500 billion KRW, No.1 in national chili pepper production, achieving 60 million KRW in farm household income) and raising the highest price guarantee production incentive for Yeongyang red chili peppers from 200 KRW to 300 KRW per kilogram.
He also received high scores for systematically and concretely including immediate issues in the election publicity, such as providing 300,000 KRW per person for health checkups for Yeongyang residents aged 50 and over, establishing Yeongyang County Park Cemetery, developing the infrastructure for the Gukgaetteul residential complex, and creating the Yeongyang Birch Forest as a premium tourist destination, covering five core pledges.
Yeongyang-gun plans to accelerate the finalization of pledges by establishing a pledge implementation plan and promptly appointing a fair and transparent pledge implementation evaluation team to ensure that the pledges of the 8th elected term proceed without setbacks.
Within this month, a pledge implementation evaluation team of about 15 members will be formed to conduct in-depth discussions on detailed pledge implementation plans and fulfill the promises made to the residents.
Mayor Oh Do-chang said, “While preparing 85 pledges, I worked hard for the residents,” and added, “The most important point for the success of the 8th elected term is to move together in the same direction, not individually, and I ask for support so that we can definitely keep our promises to the residents.”
