Ministry of Science and ICT: "5G Subscribers Use an Average of 26GB Data per Month"
Ministry of Science and ICT Statistics Announcement
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The average monthly data usage of domestic 5G subscribers was found to be 26GB. The average traffic for general plan subscribers, excluding those using unlimited data plans, was recorded at 13GB, which is half of that amount.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT's wireless communication service subscription status as of the end of June, the traffic per 5G smartphone subscriber was approximately 26,786MB (about 26.2GB). One GB equals 1024MB. This represents a slight decrease from 27.1GB in the previous month, but it is believed to be due to the difference in the number of days in the month. May has one more day than June.
Quarterly heavy user traffic status was also disclosed. The top 1% of 5G subscribers accounted for 9.4% of total traffic, while the top 5% and top 10% users accounted for 27.1% and 41.7%, respectively. The average traffic for general plan subscribers was about 14,012MB (approximately 13.7GB). During the same period, unlimited plan subscribers used 42,083MB (about 41.1GB) of data.
