Namwon Pyeonhan Sesang Operates Experience Home through Happy Bean Support Project

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Jeonbuk Namwon Severe Disability Residential Facility Pyeonhan Sesang (Director Ha Song-beom) announced on the 2nd that it is operating an experience home through the Korea Expressway Corporation (Namwon Branch) and Happy Bean support project amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The Pyeonhan Sesang Experience Home started with the opening of the first unit in 2020 and opened the second unit last year, and it has been operating since then.

The experience home, which supports community life in residential spaces outside the facility, purchased furniture and home appliances with the help of the Korea Expressway Corporation (Namwon Branch) for three years, and established the foundation for operating the experience home with support from Naver Happy Bean, donations, and other designated donors.

Financial management and employment life are very important for the residents with disabilities, and so far, the residents of the experience home have been able to attend work smoothly through job training and employment support.

However, due to difficulties caused by COVID-19, they had no choice but to quit their jobs, and especially students required special technical training for employment.

Accordingly, they applied for the Happy Bean project, and with the help of many donors, Mirae (a pseudonym) was able to realize her dream of becoming a barista.

Ha Song-beom, director of Pyeonhan Sesang, said, “It has been possible to operate the experience home so far because of the neighbors and donors who have sent generous support,” and added, “Although they have disabilities, there are many fields where they can work.”

He continued, “We ask for more interest from the local community and participation in jobs for people with disabilities.”
