Kim Tae-jin, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Proposes Expansion of 'Energy Transition Villages'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Kim Tae-jin, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, announced on the 2nd that he proposed policies to lead climate crisis response and carbon neutrality during a 5-minute free speech at the 2nd plenary session of the 305th extraordinary meeting on the 1st.

In his speech, Councilor Kim advocated ▲ converting the TF team related to climate crisis response into an official committee system for the 8th elected term ▲ promptly forming a special committee for climate crisis response ▲ prioritizing institutional arrangements through ordinances to realize carbon neutrality ▲ promoting the establishment of a privately-led ‘Seo-gu Carbon Neutrality Support Center.’

Councilor Kim emphasized that climate crisis response and carbon neutrality are not future issues but urgent and important social issues that can no longer be postponed, saying, “Let’s create Seo-gu, Gwangju, which leads carbon neutrality through consistent and continuous administration, not one-time events or imitating other autonomous districts.”
