Kia sells 257,903 units in July 2022, up 6.3% YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 257,903 units globally in July, including 51,355 units domestically and 206,548 units overseas, marking a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Compared to the same period last year, domestic and overseas sales increased by 6.6% and 6.2%, respectively. By model, the Sportage was the best-selling vehicle in the global market with 39,886 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 26,888 units and the K3 with 20,793 units.
Domestically, 51,355 units were sold, a 6.6% increase compared to the same month last year.
The best-selling vehicle was the Sorento, with 6,940 units sold.
Passenger car models sold a total of 18,216 units, including 4,807 units of the K8, 4,125 units of the Ray, 3,278 units of the Morning, and 2,859 units of the K5. RV models, including the Sorento, sold a total of 26,419 units, with 4,901 units of the Carnival, 4,120 units of the Seltos, and 3,406 units of the Sportage.
Commercial models sold a total of 6,720 units, including 6,407 units of the Bongo III, combining buses and trucks.
Overseas sales recorded 206,548 units, a 6.2% increase compared to the same month last year.
By model overseas, the Sportage was the top-selling model with 36,480 units sold. The Seltos followed with 22,768 units, and the K3 (Forte) with 18,325 units.

A Kia official stated, “Although management uncertainties continue due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and semiconductor parts supply disruptions, we are minimizing the impact on supply delays through flexible semiconductor allocation and adjustments to vehicle production schedules,” adding, “We will expand market share and profitability through competitive new models and solid sales strategies in the future.”
