Two Men Who Approached to Help Accused of Special Assault Charges
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s who swung a wooden bat at citizens trying to help him while vomiting from intoxication was arrested by the police.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul announced on the 1st that they have booked Mr. A (42) on charges of special assault and are investigating the case.
Mr. A is accused of swinging a wooden bat and hitting two men who approached to help him while he was vomiting in front of a convenience store in Guro-gu at around 12:35 a.m. on the 29th of last month.
The victims said that since Mr. A appeared intoxicated, they tried to put him in a taxi to send him home, but Mr. A picked up a wooden bat that was lying by the roadside and swung it.
The police, who responded to the report, questioned Mr. A based on a video held by a witness and the victims' statements, and Mr. A admitted to the charges.
