Gwangju Seo-gu Completes Safety Inspections of Facilities Closely Related to Residents' Daily Lives

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim I-gang) completed safety inspections of a total of 814 resident daily life-related facilities across 28 types, including welfare facilities and children's playgrounds, by the 29th of last month.

According to Seo-gu on the 1st, the inspection was conducted from the 11th to the 29th of last month, with the participation of 353 officials and private experts from 20 relevant departments to prevent safety accidents and raise safety awareness among facility managers.

Seo-gu inspected building, fire, and electrical facility safety and safety management status according to the characteristics of the facilities, and actively utilized the Safety Management Advisory Group (private experts) when professional technical advice was needed.

The safety diagnosis was conducted with the participation of six advisory members.

In particular, to prepare for the rainy season, disaster-prone facilities such as steep slopes were closely inspected for cracks and collapses, and welfare and cultural facilities used by vulnerable groups and many people were intensively checked for fire facilities and safety management status to ensure thorough prevention of safety accidents.

The safety inspection results found no serious and obvious facility defects (such as collapse risks), and minor issues such as unmaintained drainage channels and lack of fire extinguishers were immediately corrected on site.

Additionally, items requiring repair such as installation of guide lights and sprinklers, leaks, and cracks will be continuously monitored for compliance with corrective actions.

District Mayor Kim I-gang said, “As we pledged to conduct a comprehensive safety inspection of all resident daily life-related facilities, Seo-gu plans to continue creating a ‘Safety First Seo-gu’ where residents can live with peace of mind and comfort.”
