Speedmate launches O2O imported car engine oil change service with 'Michael'
Deciding to Create Synergy by Combining Online and Offline Capabilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] SK Networks' comprehensive car management brand, Speedmate, is expanding its maintenance collaboration, including an O2O service for imported car engine oil changes, in partnership with Macaron Factory, which operates the vehicle management app Michael.
On the 1st, Speedmate announced the launch of an O2O service for imported car engine oil changes in collaboration with the vehicle management app Michael. Prior to this, the two brands signed a business agreement on the 27th of last month to leverage each other's online and offline service capabilities to provide customers with reasonable services. Through this, Speedmate has extended its customer touchpoints to the Michael platform, while Michael has strengthened customer value by securing offline maintenance bases.
The newly introduced O2O service for imported car engine oil changes allows customers to purchase and pay for engine oil change services via the Michael app and receive the engine oil change at a Speedmate imported car specialty store on their designated date. In this process, customers can check the imported car engine oil products and prices in advance through the Michael app before making a purchase decision. Additionally, once the service is completed, a ‘Maintenance Report’ is issued, with replacement details automatically recorded, and customers can check the next replacement schedule along with the mechanic’s inspection comments. This significantly improves the chronic issue of information asymmetry between repair shops and customers in the vehicle maintenance market.
Since the beginning of this year, Speedmate has led the market and addressed customer inconveniences by promoting a waste tire resource recycling business and developing an emergency charging service for electric vehicles. The service provided in connection with Michael is also expected to enhance customer convenience by improving accessibility to imported car maintenance, including engine oil changes, thereby contributing to the establishment of a reasonable and transparent vehicle maintenance market.
