Korea Lily Appoints Christopher Jay Stokes as New CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwanju Lee] Korea Lilly announced on the 1st that Christopher J. Stokes has been appointed as the new CEO.
CEO Stokes is a pharmaceutical and healthcare expert with over 15 years of extensive experience in the global pharmaceutical industry. From 2020 until recently, he served as the head of Eli Lilly's South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa branches.
He graduated from George Mason University in the United States in 2002 and earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 2005.
He first joined Eli Lilly's U.S. headquarters in 2008 as a public policy analyst and has held various roles including external cooperation, government relations, drug pricing, strategic planning, new product planning, brand policy marketing, and sales management. Notably, he served as the Neurosciences Director of Sales for the West Area, USA, and as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Eli Lilly's headquarters.
CEO Stokes said, "As the newly appointed CEO of Korea Lilly, I feel a heavy responsibility and will do my best to help more Korean patients lead better lives through Lilly's innovative medicines and to deliver a positive impact to Korean society."

The former CEO of Korea Lilly, Alberto Riva, has been newly appointed as the head of Eli Lilly's Brazil branch. Since joining Korea Lilly in September 2019, President Riva contributed to the growth of Korea Lilly by supplying treatments for various diseases including cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders in Korea.
