[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Jeollanam-do Mokpo City announced on the 29th that its ambitious new product for 2022, ‘Mokpo Music Play,’ is promoting various marketing campaigns ahead of its opening in about two months.
▲ Dance Challenge Using the Logo Song... 2nd Round Registration (August 1 ? September 15)
The logo song dance challenge is an event that encourages the entire nation to promote Music Play by dancing to the logo song and awarding prize money based on the number of ‘likes’ received on SNS (1st place 1,000,000 KRW, 2nd place 500,000 KRW, 3rd place 300,000 KRW).
As a result of the 1st round (June 20 ? July 20), 14 teams registered, and the participant who received 7,867 ‘likes’ won first place.
The 2nd round registration runs from August 1 to September 15, with the same prize money. To participate, download the logo song from the official Music Play website, upload it to your personal SNS, and submit the link via the Naver form online.
The Music Play logo song, featuring the fusion gugak group ‘Sia,’ has been registered on music distribution platforms such as Melon, Genie Music, Soribada, Naver Music, and YouTube. The official sound source release and usage rights are registered to Mokpo City, displaying the title ‘Mokpo Music Play.’
▲ Nationwide Competition (Audition) ? Spread the Word and Receive Prizes
Mokpo is the first to incorporate a nationwide competition (audition) into a festival, with total prize money exceeding 100 million KRW. The judges include top-tier lyricists and composers in Korea.
The panel consists of five members: lyricist Lee Geon-woo, lyricist/composer/music director Hong Jin-young, composer Park Hyun-woo, composer Wi Jong-su, and guitarist/composer Son Moo-hyun.
Various events are underway to engage and encourage nationwide participation.
▲ Pet Duet Challenge with Music
To participate, until the 15th of next month, upload a video on your personal Instagram singing with your pet dog or your pet dog singing along to music, with hashtags (#MokpoMusicPlay #NationwideCompetition #PetDuet #PetDuetChallenge).
During the recruitment period, prizes such as AirPods (1 person), chicken gifticons (5 people), and coffee gifticons (10 people) will be awarded based on the number of ‘likes’ received on SNS.
Until the 25th, a word-of-mouth event was held where sharing the nationwide competition promotional video entered participants into a draw to win coffee gifticons for 100 people, achieving 20,000 video views.

The event will feature invited performances by top singers from Mokpo, a nationwide competition (audition), Nanyeong Jazz Theater highlighting Mokpo’s modernity and uniqueness, a nationwide dance competition, and the country’s only AI piano for rental, offering a diverse, dramatic, and comfortable program to enjoy music and healing.
