Shall We Go Heal at the 'Healing Forest Trail' of Iljasan in Gangdong-gu This Weekend?
[Seoul District News] Gangdong-gu 'Iljasan Healing Forest Trail' Forest Therapy Program for Restoring Tired Minds Operated Regularly, Popular Urban Well-being Spot
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] How about taking a break this weekend at Iljasan Healing Forest Trail in Gangdong-gu?
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) has developed the ‘Healing Forest Trail’ on Iljasan Mountain, which has recently gained popularity as a well-being spot for urban residents experiencing high stress due to COVID-19 and various social issues.
One of its great advantages is that it is located close to the city center, so residents tired of their daily lives can easily stroll along the forest trail anytime and experience mental healing.
The forest healing program, where participants walk along a 500m trail with a certified forest healing instructor to heal their body and mind, is regularly operated from Tuesday to Saturday until November.
The ongoing program ‘Forest of Gratitude’ offers a healing experience connected to the forest through sensory activities to relieve stress, herbal tea tasting, and meditation.
There are also customized special programs for seniors, housewives, chronic patients, and people with disabilities. These include ▲‘Forest of Rest’ menopause relief project such as frozen shoulder exercises ▲‘Forest of Courage’ to help communication and harmony among friends or colleagues ▲‘Forest of Joy’ prevention program for target syndromes including stretching ▲‘Forest of Rest’ for families with disabled and special needs children, among various tailored programs for different participants.
Anyone, individual or group, can participate, and applications can be made through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website. Participation is free of charge.
