ISO14001 is a certification established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that comprehensively evaluates and certifies whether a company has established an organized management system to manage and achieve environmental management as a core criterion.
Shinsegae DF headquarters, Shinsegae Duty Free main store, Incheon Airport branch, Busan branch, and integrated logistics center?all business sites?were certified for their environmental management system covering sales, marketing, logistics, and online and offline services. This certification is the result of various efforts Shinsegae Duty Free has made to implement environmental management throughout its overall business activities. In May of this year, Shinsegae Duty Free declared its environmental management policy, strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities, prioritizing environmental management to create sustainable social value, and pledging strict compliance with environmental laws and rigorous internal management execution.
In February 2020, Shinsegae Duty Free was the first to introduce the reusable eco-friendly packaging ‘Green Bag’ and has been continuously using it by expanding to Incheon Airport and downtown duty-free shops. Since October of the same year, the company fully adopted the ‘Moving Rack’ method for transporting products from the integrated logistics center to the airport delivery area, solving the problem of air cap usage. In the second half of this year, it plans to continue activities to reduce the use of plastic shopping bags by introducing paper shopping bags made from 100% recycled paper and soy ink.
