Starting from the 25th, Pohang Steelworks began the Clean Road project by spraying water on the roads of Cheongnim-dong nearby using water trucks that are used at the product pier, and plans to continue this for about two months.
This project is expected to remove dust and fine particles in residential areas while also reducing the heat island effect by lowering the radiant heat on the road surface during the hot summer.
Until now, the area around Cheongnim-dong in Pohang has experienced the influx of fine dust and dust into residential areas due to the steel industrial complex and the operation of large freight vehicles.
The Production Technology Department of Pohang Steelworks plans to collaborate with the product shipping section to extend the operation route of water trucks, which handle falling materials such as iron ore and coal at the new port, to major arterial roads around Cheongnim-dong.
