Kang Ha-eun, Gwangju University Student, Receives 'Gwangju Mayor's Commendation' on Population Day
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 28th that Kang Haeun, a senior student in the Department of Nursing, received a commendation from the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City at the ceremony held recently to mark the 11th Population Day.
From 2020 to 2021, Kang Haeun served as the president of the campus club Topus (a group of university students thinking about population issues), organizing local campaigns, volunteer activities, and forums to overcome low birth rates.
At this ceremony, she was recognized for her contributions to responding to the low birth rate issue and creating a family-friendly environment.

She also served as the representative of the Topus clubs in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, leading efforts with the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association and others to improve awareness and promote value practice among university students regarding population issues.
