Imsil-gun Holds 'Pilbong Village Gut Festival' After 3 Years
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] The Pilbong Village Gut Festival, a representative Nongak festival of Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, will be held for the first time in three years.
The county announced on the 28th that the "27th Pilbong Village Gut Festival" will be held for four days from the 11th to the 14th of next month at Pilbong Cultural Village in Gangjin-myeon.
Hosted and organized by the Imsil Pilbong Nongak Preservation Society (Chairman Yang Jinseong), the Pilbong Village Gut Festival, a representative performing arts festival of Jeollabuk-do, has continued for 27 years since the memorial ceremony for the late master Yang Sunyong in 1996.
Also, it is well known as Korea's representative intangible cultural heritage Nongak festival where you can experience various forms of traditional performances by inviting representative intangible heritage groups from across the country, including the Imsil Pilbong Nongak, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and a national intangible cultural asset.
Invited intangible heritage performances include Nongak from all over the country including Imsil Pilbong Nongak, as well as performances by various intangible cultural heritage groups such as Ganggangsullae and Yangju Byeolsandae Nori.
The humanities concert "Dangsan Pungwol" is a content performed under the Dangsan tree, a symbol of Pilbong Village, and this year you can enjoy the national intangible cultural assets Jindo Ssitgimgut, Battal, and Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut.
The evening program, Pilbong Yaryu Dalgut, is composed of stage performances by the Imsil Arts Association's Cultural Playroom, a 2030 Youth Playroom centered on traditional classical music with Uzbek traditional instrument players, and the Gwangdae Playroom consisting of a guitarist and fusion percussion ensemble.
Programs that guardians and children can enjoy together are also prepared.
Through prior registration, programs such as "Sound Exploration with Deongdeokgoongi" and "Moving Shadow Play Rabbit and Turtle" are prepared, and the festival will be enriched with academic seminars and competitions.
Yang Jinseong, chairman of the Imsil Pilbong Nongak Preservation Society, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity to quench the thirst for the excitement on site and fully enjoy our enthusiasm and joy."
County Governor Shim Min said, "Pilbong Nongak, a national treasure-level cultural asset registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is a great pride of our hometown recognized for its value by people all over the world," and added, "While watching the lively Pungmul Gut festival, let's shake off the gloomy and difficult past and unite to restore daily life from COVID-19."
