Teragen Bio Renews International Standard Certifications for Information Security and Personal Data Protection for 3 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Theragen Bio announced on the 27th that it has renewed the international standard information security certification 'ISO27001' and the personal information protection certification 'ISO27701' for three consecutive years.
ISO27001 and ISO27701 are the most prestigious certifications in the field of information security. To obtain these certifications, organizations must pass a rigorous evaluation process based on high-level guidelines required by the European Union's (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including criteria such as ▲information security policy ▲physical security ▲access control ▲legal compliance.
Theragen Bio was the first genome company to acquire ISO27001 and ISO27701 in September 2020. While genome analysis companies have mainly obtained ISO27001 certification to protect personal information contained in genome data, Theragen Bio has been certified for both personal information and general information security, enabling it to comply with information regulations encountered in overseas genome analysis businesses such as the EU's GDPR and Australia's CPS2334.
