Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Holds 'Traditional Market Day' Shopping Event to Revitalize Local Economy
Purchased Local Agricultural Products Delivered to Gwangyang Senior Club
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced that it held the 'YGPA Traditional Market Day' shopping event on the 26th to revitalize the local economy.
This event was held to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, by promoting consumption at local traditional markets through participation of executives and employees.
About 10 executives and employees of the authority visited the Gwangyang 5-Day Market in person to purchase local agricultural products such as rice, and the purchased agricultural products were delivered to the 'Gwangyang Senior Club' to support health improvement and prevention of nutritional deficiency among vulnerable elderly people.
Starting from the 26th, the authority plans to visit the sister markets, Gwangyang 5-Day Market and Yeosu Gyodong Market, to purchase agricultural products, which will then be donated to social welfare organizations to support coexistence with vulnerable groups.
An official from the authority said, "We hope this event will help spread the culture of consuming local agricultural products and contribute to revitalizing the depressed local economy," adding, "We will continue to do our best for regional coexistence and mutual growth."
