View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Lee Young, Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), stated, "The MSS will take the lead in driving private-sector-led innovative growth and create the value of coexistence and innovation where large corporations, SMEs, ventures, and small business owners work together." He made this statement on the 26th through Facebook, marking the 5th anniversary of the MSS's establishment.
The minister evaluated, "The budget, which was 8.5366 trillion won at the time of establishment, has more than doubled to 18.8412 trillion won this year," adding, "The policy areas have also expanded dramatically, diversifying the scope of work by evaluating and adjusting SME policies, subdividing startup, venture activation, and R&D, and expanding the horizons of win-win cooperation and manufacturing innovation for SMEs and small business owners."
He also explained the achievements of the MSS, saying, "Even amid the global pandemic environment, the MSS has established itself as the control tower of SME and small business policies that warmly protect the lives of the people through COVID-19 crisis response and recovery support, fostering local commercial districts, and digital transformation."

The minister continued, "Now, facing the turning point of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the post-COVID era, despite the triple high crisis of high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, our MSS will faithfully implement national tasks to overcome the economic crisis and create growth engines that lead the era of great transformation and advance the country as a leader in the digital economy," emphasizing his commitment.
