The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has designated the period from today until the 7th of next month as a special quarantine period for beaches, focusing inspections on more than 16 major beaches including Gangwon's Gyeongpo Beach, Chungnam's Mallipo Beach, Busan's Haeundae Beach, and Jeju's Hyeopjae Beach.
They plan to focus on checking compliance with quarantine measures at each beach, such as indoor mask-wearing, maintaining a distance of more than 1 meter outdoors, promoting quarantine guidelines, disinfection, and ventilation. Campaigns will also be conducted to encourage beachgoers to voluntarily participate in lifestyle quarantine measures like social distancing.
