Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts 'Planned Crackdown' on 293 Large Warehouse Facilities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct a planned fire inspection of warehouse facilities such as logistics warehouses within the province.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 26th that from September 1 to November 30, a three-month planned fire inspection will be carried out targeting 293 warehouse facilities including logistics warehouses, cold storage warehouses, and logistics terminals within the province.
This inspection will be conducted as a full survey of warehouse facilities with a total floor area of 15,000㎡ or more within the province.
It will focus on preventing recurring fires in large logistics warehouses in the province and rechecking the status of safety management.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will deploy 90 personnel in 37 inspection teams from the headquarters and fire stations to check ▲ maintenance status such as closure and blocking of fire-fighting facilities and evacuation facilities ▲ omission of major fire-fighting facilities (sprinklers and smoke control equipment, etc.), illegal construction and supervision acts ▲ unauthorized storage and handling of hazardous materials.
Nam Hwa-young, head of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, emphasized, "This planned inspection was promoted to prevent fires in logistics warehouses within the province," and added, "Illegal acts that threaten the safety of residents will be strongly dealt with according to fire-related laws and regulations."
