60s Woman Swept Away by Rapids While Catching Dasulgi Dies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Se-ryeong] A woman in her 60s who was catching freshwater snails in Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, was found dead after being swept away by a rapid current.
According to Jinju Police Station on the 25th, at around 12:49 PM on the 24th, Ms. A, who was catching freshwater snails with a group of four at Deokcheon River near Changchon Samgeori in Sugok-myeon, slipped and was swept away by the rapid current.
Police and firefighters who responded to the 119 emergency call from the group conducted a search operation, and about 1 hour and 20 minutes after the missing person report, they found Ms. A deceased near Chudongbo, about 100 meters from the accident site.
