[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Orbitech has succeeded in securing a large-scale service contract in the nuclear power business sector.
On the 25th, Orbitech announced that it signed a radiation management service contract for Hanbit Units 3 and 4 with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. The contract amount is 24 billion KRW, and the contract period is until July 2025.
Orbitech will perform management tasks for three years to prevent radioactive materials generated during the operation of Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 from leaking outside. To ensure the safety of internal workers and power generation facilities, it will carry out various tasks including ▲radiation protection management ▲radioactive waste management and disposal ▲exposure dose management of radiation workers ▲quality control.
Orbitech operates in nuclear-related businesses and aircraft precision parts businesses. In the nuclear business sector, it provides comprehensive radiation-related solution services such as radiation management, pre-operation/in-operation non-destructive inspection (PSI/ISI), and treatment of intermediate/low-level radioactive waste.
The radiation management service, which was previously renewed every two years, has been changed to a three-year renewal cycle. The service period has been extended, and the contract amount has also increased.
A company official said, "Through securing this service contract, we have secured a stable source of revenue," and added, "We will focus on expanding orders by employing an aggressive bidding strategy in numerous bids scheduled for the second half of the year."
