Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hosts 'V-World 3D Modeling Contest'
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that from the 25th to September 30th, it will hold the "2022 V-World 3D Modeling Contest," hosted by the Ministry and organized by the Spatial Information Industry Promotion Agency.
Held annually since 2009, this contest aims to discover excellent 3D models owned by public and private sectors and encourage their use through V-World. V-World is a spatial information platform service that integrates and provides various spatial information held by national and local governments, such as 3D spatial data and continuous cadastral maps.
The contest categories are divided into landmarks, small-scale areas, and virtual models. Anyone capable of producing 3D models, including companies, organizations, students, and the general public, can participate. This year, a virtual model category has been added, which includes aerial perspective models reflecting participants' creativity, planned cities, and metaverse buildings, rather than existing real-world structures.
Those wishing to participate can check detailed contest information on the V-World and Spatial Information Industry Promotion Agency websites and submit their application forms via email.
Outstanding works will be selected through category-specific evaluations. Winners will receive awards from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Director of the Spatial Information Industry Promotion Agency, and prize money. Winning entries will be made public through the V-World 3D map service.
