Dong-A Socio Holdings Publishes Third Group Integrated Report 'Gamasot' Embodying the Spirit of Integrity, Diligence, and Consideration
Embodying the Founder’s Spirit:
Establishing Responsible Management Goals
Highlighting Eco-Friendly Achievements,
Including Expanded Greenhouse Gas Emissions Verification
[Asia Economy, Lee Gwanju] Dong-A Socio Holdings has published its 2021 Group Integrated Report, 'Gamasot (GAMASOT)', in order to transparently disclose both financial and non-financial performance, demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility, and communicate with stakeholders.
The report's title, Gamasot, is inspired by the 'Gamasot Spirit,' which is the foundation of Dong-A Socio Group's founding philosophy of 'integrity, diligence, and consideration.' The Gamasot Spirit refers to the warm-hearted attitude of the late founder, Kang Junghee, who, even during difficult times, made it a point to serve every guest who visited his home with rice cooked in a traditional iron pot (gamasot). This spirit reflects a deep care and respect for people. The Gamasot Spirit also symbolizes the group's commitment to following the 'right path' in management, using the Chinese character for 'cauldron' (鼎) instead of the more common character for 'right' (正), emphasizing Dong-A Socio Group's pursuit of responsible management as the correct path forward.
First published in 2020, this year's report marks the third edition of the Group Integrated Report. It outlines Dong-A Socio Group's management philosophy, major achievements, Creating Shared Value (CSV) activities, and each affiliate's performance and value investments for the future, all established as key objectives of responsible management. In particular, alongside its social responsibility management activities, the report details the third-party verification of greenhouse gas emissions across all group companies, with the verification scope expanded to Scope 3, highlighting ongoing achievements in eco-friendly initiatives.
Additionally, the report introduces the group's efforts to enhance its safety management system in response to the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, the establishment of a company-wide risk management system, the adoption of ISO 26000-the international standard for social responsibility management-and participation in various activities led by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), all of which contribute to shared value activities that harmonize economic and social value.
The Group Integrated Report, 'Gamasot,' will be published annually and is available on the Dong-A Socio Group's Integrity Management website. A Dong-A Socio Holdings representative stated, "Dong-A Socio Group has set responsible growth, leadership in group-wide social responsibility management, and value investment for the future as the core objectives of sustainable management in order to achieve our mission of 'endless challenges for the health and happiness of humanity.' We will continue to faithfully practice our core values of pursuing innovation, driving change, building mutual trust, and growing together, striving to achieve sustainable growth in harmony with society."
