Ri Ryong-nam, North Korean Ambassador to China, Visits Yunnan and Hunan Provinces at Invitation of Chinese Government
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ri Ryong-nam, North Korean ambassador to China, visited Yunnan Province and Hunan Province at the invitation of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
According to the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province on the 24th, Ambassador Ri, as the head of a diplomatic delegation in China consisting of 13 members from 10 countries including the ambassadors of Benin, Tanzania, and Thailand, attended the '2022 China International Tourism Trade Fair' held in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, on the 21st.
In Kunming, Ambassador Ri met with Wang Ning, Secretary of Yunnan Province, congratulated the province on its development achievements, and stated, "We hope that North Korea and Yunnan Province of China will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields."

On the 22nd, Ambassador Ri moved to Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, and met with Mao Weiming, Governor of Hunan Province. According to the Hunan Daily, during the meeting with Governor Mao, Ambassador Ri and the delegation said, "We will continue to promote friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between various countries and Hunan Province, and introduce Hunan Province's historical and cultural resources," adding, "We will enhance mutual friendship and help facilitate the connection of public sentiments."
