'COVID-19 Positive' Biden Shares Photo Working on Twitter... "Doing Well"
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] "Everyone, I am doing well." U.S. President Joe Biden, who tested positive for COVID-19, shared a message about his condition on the 20th (local time), about two hours after the White House announced the positive test.
President Biden posted on Twitter that day with a photo of him smiling while working, saying, "Everyone, I am doing well. Thank you for your concern." The photo showed him sitting at a desk in a suit without a tie, smiling as he worked.
He mentioned, "I expressed regret over not being able to attend today's event during phone calls with Senator Bob Casey, Representative Matt Cartwright, and Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti." President Biden was scheduled to visit Scranton, Pennsylvania, to give a speech related to additional gun safety legislation but canceled the event entirely after testing positive. The mentioned Casey and Cartwright are politicians representing Pennsylvania.
He also added, "I am staying busy."
The release of this message and photo by President Biden is interpreted as an effort to alleviate concerns about a governance gap due to his isolation. The White House previously announced Biden’s positive test, stating he currently has very mild symptoms and is working while in isolation. However, concerns arose because Biden, born in November 1942, is 79 years old by U.S. age and considered high-risk.
The White House did not specify when or how President Biden was infected. Last week, Biden toured the Middle East, including Israel and Saudi Arabia. The day before, he visited Massachusetts to address climate change issues.
