POSCO Supports Youth Employment Success Together with Employment Academy
Recruitment for 11th Trainees Until the 27th... 3-Week Training at Gwangyang and Pohang POSCO Human Resources Creation Centers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] POSCO is recruiting trainees for the "POSCO Employment Academy" to strengthen the employment capabilities of young people until the 27th of this month.
The POSCO Human Resources Creation Institute (Director Kim Soon-gi) will conduct the POSCO Employment Academy starting August 8, providing employment capability support such as self-introduction letter coaching and mock interviews for young job seekers, along with practical corporate work experience to help them succeed in employment.
The POSCO Employment Academy is a program that POSCO has been running since 2019 to support young people struggling with employment difficulties and to contribute to resolving youth unemployment. Since the program's inception, about 3,000 trainees have graduated as of the first half of this year, with half of the graduates successfully finding employment.
This training, held over three weeks from August 8 to 26, consists of one week of non-face-to-face education and two weeks of in-person group training. The first week of non-face-to-face education covers basic competencies necessary for the employment process, including self-introduction letter coaching, mock interviews, and company/job analysis.
Notably, this session will be conducted not only in Gwangyang but also in Pohang, providing assistance to job seekers residing in each region.
During the second and third weeks of residential training held at the POSCO Human Resources Creation Institutes in Gwangyang and Pohang, trainees will enhance their practical skills by performing actual work tasks that may occur in companies and learning corporate work methods.
During the two-week task execution period, trainees use the problem-solving methodology called "Design Thinking" to define problems, derive alternatives, and discover appropriate solutions by generating and structuring ideas to produce the best outcomes.
The recruitment period for the 11th session is from the 18th to the 27th and applications can be submitted through the dedicated Poyou Dream website.
Anyone under the age of 34 who has graduated from a four-year university or is expected to graduate within six months is eligible to apply. All participants will receive free education and accommodation, and a nominal training allowance will be provided.
Trainees who complete the Employment Academy with excellent grades will be offered a two-month internship opportunity at the POSCO Human Resources Creation Institute.
