BGF Retail Signs Business Agreement with Jeollabuk-do... "Developing Products Using Local Specialties"
Expanding Sales Channels for Agricultural Specialties through Pocket CU
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] BGF Retail announced on the 21st that it has signed a business agreement with Jeollabuk-do to develop new products using local agricultural specialties and to expand sales channels.
Through this business agreement, they plan to contribute to the revitalization of the Jeollabuk-do regional economy by mutually cooperating organically in areas such as ▲developing convenient meals using Jeollabuk-do local specialties ▲expanding sales channels for local agricultural specialties through Pocket CU ▲supporting marketing for excellent agricultural product sales.
BGF Retail introduced a convenient meal series using bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) from Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do earlier this month. Among these, the lunchbox and hamburger have consistently ranked number one in sales within their categories since their release, gaining high popularity. The amount of bokbunja concentrate expected to be used in these convenient meals this year is estimated to reach 20 tons.
Last year, BGF Retail signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do worth a total of 50 billion KRW for purchasing local agricultural and marine products and developing products. They used raw materials from Jeollanam-do in lunchboxes and triangular kimbap, consuming 1.2 million sheets of Wando seaweed and 13,000 tons of Saecheongmu rice.
