Comparing Your Insurance with Peers... KakaoPay Launches 'My Insurance Report'
MyData-Based Insurance Information Analysis
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Through KakaoPay, users can check their insurance coverage information and compare their subscribed insurance details with peers or groups under similar conditions.
KakaoPay announced on the 20th that it started this 'My Insurance Report' service on the 18th. It is the industry's first service to provide personalized customized insurance analysis information based on MyData (personal credit information management) data.
By using this service, users can receive information from various comparison groups such as peers, subscribers with the same insurance, or those with the same coverage. It also provides information on frequently occurring diseases or treatment costs. This allows users to assess their own insurance coverage and subscription status. A KakaoPay representative explained, "While existing services simply analyzed 'insurance premiums' or 'coverage details,' 'My Insurance Report' offers various data explaining why the insurance product is necessary, helping users make informed choices."
Additionally, explanations of insurance terms and common knowledge are included. The service is structured as a personalized insurance information curation service focused on providing insurance analysis information rather than recommending insurance products.
For example, if there is an insurance policy among the subscribed ones that covers hospital bills, the service informs which insurance it is, and in the case of cancer insurance, users can compare the cancer diagnosis benefit amounts of their peers.
Any member subscribed to KakaoPay's MyData service can use it. It is accessible via KakaoPay Home on KakaoTalk or the KakaoPay application (app).

A KakaoPay representative stated, "This service does not induce subscribing to insurance products after indicating whether the subscribed insurance coverage is insufficient or excessive, but analyzes major coverage and subscription amounts based on MyData and provides useful insurance information according to life cycles," adding, "It is a service that enhances understanding of subscribed insurance and informs about the necessity and utilization methods of insurance from an asset management perspective."
