Kwon Seong-dong, Acting Party Leader and Floor Leader of the People Power Party, stated at the Jeju Yejunghyeop held at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 19th, "The party and government aim to focus on overcoming the livelihood crisis, laying the foundation for economic vitality, and fulfilling the promises made to the people during the last presidential and local elections."
Acting Leader Kwon emphasized, "Especially for Jeju Province, budget and policy support tailored to its natural environment and special autonomous status are more necessary than in any other region. We will actively work to reduce medical disparities with other regions by promoting the establishment of specialized hospitals capable of responding to the special situation of infectious diseases and expanding infrastructure to treat severe patients."
He added, "We will support strengthening basic logistics rights by establishing a consumer direct delivery system to make clean Jeju products easily accessible on the mainland and by creating smart joint logistics centers."
Oh Young-hoon, Governor of Jeju Province from the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "One of the main reasons for the significant rise in prices in Jeju compared to other regions is the logistics system issue," and requested support, stating, "Water issues are the most important, and as I mentioned earlier, the water supply and logistics system are urgent issues directly related to people's livelihoods."
At the subsequent Gangwon Yejunghyeop, Acting Leader Kwon also pledged active support for resolving regional issues. He said, "We will actively support the fostering of new industries such as semiconductors, medical, and data, which are future growth engines for Gangwon Province and the Republic of Korea," and added, "As the number of tourists visiting Gangwon Province increases daily, we will carefully manage SOC projects such as roads, railways, and ports to resolve transportation imbalances and expand accessibility."
