Over 6,500 Companies in Gimhae City to Pay 'Industrial Water Charges' Starting This October
Establishment of Industrial Use Category for Home, General, and Public Bath Applications
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, is establishing an 'industrial water rate system.'
On the 19th, the city announced that it will add an industrial category to the existing water rate system, which is divided into residential, general, and public bath categories.
To make this decision, a service related to the establishment of industrial water rates was previously conducted, and after revising the Gimhae City Water Supply Ordinance and Enforcement Rules in August, the industrial water rates are planned to be applied around October.
A city official stated that with the establishment of the industrial water rate system, about 6,500 companies currently paying general water rates will be able to pay at a lower rate.
The city estimated that by applying a flat rate of 1,180 KRW per ton for industrial use, companies will achieve an annual cost reduction effect equivalent to 2.2 billion KRW.
