A Criminal with Prior Record in Gangnam, Seoul, Illegally Films Woman's Home, Cuts Electronic Ankle Bracelet, and Escapes
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] A man in his 50s with a criminal record in Seoul visited a woman’s house, illegally filmed her, then cut off the electronic tracking device (electronic anklet) he was wearing on his ankle and fled, prompting police to launch a manhunt.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 19th that they are tracking a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, who is suspected of trespassing and violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, including illegal filming using a camera. According to the police, Mr. A allegedly entered the home of a woman in her 20s, Ms. B, located in Gangnam-gu, around 1 a.m. that day and illegally filmed her. Mr. A, who was wearing an electronic anklet due to previous criminal offenses, cut off the device and escaped near Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, around 4:30 a.m.

Mr. A was working as a driver for a nightlife establishment and had memorized Ms. B’s address, who also worked at the same establishment, before committing the crime that day. A police official stated, "We are tracking Mr. A through closed-circuit television (CCTV) and other means."
