LG CNS Builds 'AI Integrated Control System' at Government Sejong Cheongsa
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] LG CNS is set to transform the Government Sejong Complex into a digital government building.
On the 19th, LG CNS announced that it had won the contract for the "Smart Government Building Integrated Management System Construction Project" commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This project aims to digitally transform (DX) the Government Sejong Complex, the largest government building in Korea (total floor area of 190,000 pyeong, 629,000㎡), by April 2023.
To achieve this, LG CNS will build an ‘AI Integrated Control System’ utilizing ▲Digital Twin ▲5G specialized network (Eum5G) ▲Artificial Intelligence (AI) ▲Big Data, among others. Through digital twin technology, the actual Government Sejong Complex will be rendered in 3D within a virtual space. Within this space, a management avatar will provide an ‘avatar patrol service’ to inspect the status of facilities related to fire safety, electricity, and lighting.
For example, if a Government Sejong Complex manager sets the avatar to patrol from basement level 2 to the 12th floor above ground, the avatar will check all floors and verify the normal operation of circuit breakers by zone and lighting brightness levels.
The ‘AI Integrated Control System’ also offers an AI and big data-based ‘anomaly detection service.’ The AI analyzes all footage captured by approximately 2,000 closed-circuit (CC) TVs inside and outside the Government Sejong Complex using about 60 indicators such as person’s gender, possession of items, and vehicle type. Based on the facility and security control big data analyzed by AI, the Government Sejong Complex control room will be able to ▲quickly recognize and alert abnormal situations such as fires or unauthorized intrusions ▲detect facility anomalies.
LG CNS provides the ‘AI Integrated Control System’ through the ‘CityHub Building’ platform, which encompasses the latest DX technologies. ‘CityHub Building’ is an integrated control specialized platform developed by LG CNS that includes various solutions for data collection, facility management, and control of large buildings such as office buildings and factories. Going forward, the Government Sejong Complex will be able to respond swiftly to abnormal situations and make optimal decisions using the ‘AI Integrated Control System.’
LG CNS will also build walk-through type access gates equipped with both security and convenience features. A multi-factor authentication method combining mobile government ID app authentication and AI facial recognition will be introduced. Government building employees only need to turn on the app and pass through the access gate. LG CNS plans to install walk-through type access gates at four government buildings including Sejong, Seoul, Gwacheon, and Daejeon.
