Ministry of Science and ICT to Discover Leading Figures in the Metaverse Industry
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 18th that it will begin accepting applications for the '2022 Korea Metaverse Awards' from the 19th to discover leading representatives of the domestic extended virtual world (hereinafter Metaverse) industry.
The '2022 Korea Metaverse Awards' is an event aimed at revitalizing the metaverse ecosystem by discovering promising domestic representatives with high contributions to the metaverse industry and encouraging their achievements. Now in its second year, this event has newly established a creator category reflecting the trend of the metaverse creator ecosystem becoming active and the monetization of creative works accelerating.
Additionally, this year, leading representatives will be carefully selected through two rounds of intensive evaluations. The total prize money has also been expanded to 18 million KRW, tripling compared to last year.
