The students were recognized for their outstanding research achievement with the paper titled "Implementation of a Smart Umbrella Stand" at this national competition recently held at Pukyong National University.
The International Next-Generation Convergence Technology Society holds a nationwide undergraduate thesis competition to help students develop theoretical and practical skills and foster creativity to develop new ideas.
In their award-winning paper, the Pukyong National University students proposed adding smart functions to the existing umbrella stand, notifying users to take an umbrella based on weather forecasts, and suggested an umbrella drying function using a Peltier element, a cooling semiconductor, which received favorable evaluations from the judges.
