Even Entry-Level Employees Can Be Promoted to Team Leader... Shinhan Card Announces New Personnel System
Announcement of 'Babada' Action Commitment and New HR System at Second Half Management Strategy Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Shinhan Card is undertaking human resource (HR) innovation by appointing even entry-level employees as team leaders if their expertise and leadership are verified.
On the 15th, Shinhan Card held a second-half management strategy meeting at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by President Lim Young-jin and others, and announced on the 17th that it decided to introduce a new personnel system reflecting these changes.
First, Shinhan Card opened internal recruitment for team leaders of agile organizations requiring expertise, allowing anyone to apply regardless of rank or age. This means that even entry-level employees can become team leaders if their expertise and leadership are verified.
Additionally, the open-market style personnel operation will be expanded to all departments, providing opportunities for employees to autonomously choose the work they want to do. Through this, Shinhan Card expects not only to maximize performance through creative thinking but also to satisfy the growth desires of MZ generation (born between 1980 and 2000) employees.
Furthermore, Shinhan Card plans to encourage growth by activating data-based customized coaching for employees and to secure top talent optimized for the organization by introducing a data-driven 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) competency screening' system, which will be utilized starting with new employee recruitment in the second half of this year.
A Shinhan Card official stated, "Through HR innovation, we will nurture self-directed and creative talent to accelerate the transition to a digital organization. We will also strive to establish a culture where members work freely within self-imposed discipline by continuously practicing the 'Busy Action Promise' in all company activities."
Meanwhile, at the recent second-half management strategy meeting, Shinhan Card reviewed first-half performance and discussed the business environment and key strategies for the second half. President Lim emphasized in his remarks that in a situation full of uncertainty and opacity, for the 100-year Shinhan, three core pillars must be maintained: ▲creative compressed growth ▲creative business expansion ▲creative succession of Shinhan culture.
President Lim said, "Since our business domain includes not only traditional card companies but also internet banks and big tech companies, creative destruction?where we disrupt and redevelop our own business models?is essential to create opportunities for business expansion in future markets." He added, "Leaders must demonstrate leadership so that employees can boldly transcend the limits of time, space, and thought to experience and challenge creative business expansion by redefining business."
