View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Hwang Du-yeol] Jeong Jong-bok, the mayor of Gijang County, and the Gijang County mayoral transition and advisory committee members visited Busan City on the 15th to meet with Mayor Park Hyung-joon and discuss major pending issues in Gijang County.
The visit was arranged to request close cooperation from Busan City for the successful promotion of the 8th term civilian administration of the county government, ahead of the conclusion of the Gijang County mayoral transition committee activities.
The major pending issues discussed included ▲ operation of a permanent consultative body among the mayor, members of the National Assembly, and the county mayor ▲ promotion of Gijang County railway projects such as the Jeonggwan Line and Gijang Line ▲ construction of Bansong Tunnel and connecting roads ▲ early construction of the coastal road between Daebyeon and Jukseong ▲ lifting of development restriction zones ▲ lifting of water source protection zones ▲ expansion of urban gas supply areas ▲ consultations related to the Korea Glass site in Ilgwang-eup ▲ opening of a bypass road in Jeonggwan General Industrial Complex ▲ establishment of a railway-linked transfer system and improvement of city bus transportation system ▲ promotion of the airport bus route for the Dongnam region mega city ▲ creation of Gijang Eupseong historic park ▲ establishment of a smart aquaculture cluster, among others.
Jeong Jong-bok, mayor of Gijang County, and the transition and advisory committee members said, “We ask for Busan City’s active cooperation and support to resolve the major projects and pending issues being promoted in Gijang County,” and added, “Let us closely cooperate for mutual development going forward.”
The 8th term civilian Gijang County mayoral transition committee held a total of 12 full meetings since its launch on June 10, conducting thorough reviews of county government pending projects through site visits to major projects, departmental work reports, and meetings by subcommittees.
The transition committee also discussed the main county government policies for the 8th term civilian administration and selected 100 major county government tasks in four sectors under the vision of “A city embracing happiness, opening the future, Gijang.”

The committee will hold a report meeting and closing ceremony for its activities at 5 p.m. on the 15th in the briefing room on the 3rd floor of Gijang County Office, concluding 36 days of activities.
