Proposals for Key Projects of Gyeongnam Province under the 8th Elected Administration

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Kim Byung-gyu, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongsangnam-do, will visit the Ministry of Economy and Finance for two days on the 15th and 18th to promote major projects of Gyeongnam Province in 2023 and secure national funding.
On the 15th, Deputy Governor Kim held meetings with Choi Sang-dae, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well as the Social Budget Review Officer, Welfare and Safety Budget Review Officer, and Administration and Defense Budget Review Officer.
He proposed key national projects to Vice Minister Choi, including ▲the feasibility study for toll reduction on the Geoga Bridge and Machang Bridge ▲the establishment of an extreme materials (advanced materials) demonstration research base ▲and the construction of the National Fisheries Aquaculture Feed Research Institute.
To the Budget Director, he presented major national subsidy projects such as ▲the establishment of a support hub for full-cycle standardization of natural materials ▲support for pretreatment facilities for oyster shell resource utilization ▲and the regeneration project of the Seomjin Railway Bridge.
He emphasized to each review officer that the sector-specific major projects are essential for Gyeongnam Province, visiting all departments of the Budget Office to deliver and explain the proposed projects.
Deputy Governor Kim said, “All these are key projects actively promoted by the new government and the 8th Gyeongnam Provincial Administration,” adding, “These projects aim for balanced development in western Gyeongnam, the revitalization of local industries, and the establishment of transportation and logistics infrastructure, so I hope they will be reflected in next year’s government budget.”
Gyeongnam Province plans to actively pursue national funding efforts centered on Deputy Governor Kim, who is a former Ministry of Economy and Finance official, during the budget review period at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which runs until August.
