During this time, special inspections for water play safety and COVID-19 prevention will be conducted at 232 water play management sites such as local rivers and valleys, as well as 32 hazardous areas.
Gyeongbuk Province sets a special water play countermeasure period every summer to promote water play safety management.
This year, following the lifting of social distancing measures (April 18), the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the province, which had been declining, recently exceeded 1,000, showing signs of a resurgence. Therefore, in addition to water play safety management, special inspections for COVID-19 prevention will also be conducted.
The province has organized a special inspection team consisting of 13 members in 4 groups, led by the head of the Social Disaster Division, for this inspection.
The main inspection items include the status of maintenance and installation of water play safety facilities, securing and deployment of safety guards, and COVID-19 prevention management plans.
Sample inspections will be conducted on overall water play safety management and COVID-19 prevention, and continuous follow-up and management will be carried out for any deficiencies found.
