Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Holds '2023 Distribution Project' Briefing Session
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong·Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 13th that it held the ‘2023 Allocation Project Briefing Session’ attended by about 300 officials from facilities, institutions, and organizations providing social welfare services in the Gwangju area.
Before the briefing session, Professor Lee Yonggyo of the Department of Social Welfare at Gwangju University, who serves as a member of the Allocation Subcommittee Executive Committee of the Central Community Chest of Korea, gave a special lecture on the changing social welfare trends after COVID-19.
At the briefing session, changes to the 2023 allocation projects were announced, along with lectures on how to fill out the allocation project application forms, and information was provided on application projects, planning projects, and lottery fund projects currently being conducted by the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
Secretary-General Kim Jingon said, “We will support fairly and transparently so that the precious donations collected from the citizens of Gwangju can be used for neighbors in need of care and the development of community welfare.”
Meanwhile, applications for the 2023 projects will be accepted from August 1 to 26, 2022, and project applications can be submitted through the Community Chest of Korea’s online allocation application system. Detailed information can be found on the Gwangju Community Chest website.
The allocation projects promoted by the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea include ▲application projects that accept welfare project applications in a free-topic contest format and allocate funds ▲pilot and specialized planning projects that allocate funds based on set themes ▲emergency support projects that allocate living, medical, and housing expenses to low-income families facing urgent difficulties, totaling about 14 billion KRW annually.
