The 12th Provincial Assembly's First On-Site Legislative Activity... Inspection of Traffic Congestion Road Entering Innovation City
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 13th, Jeong Jae-wook, a member of the Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly, conducted his first on-site legislative activity of the 12th term by visiting the entrance road to the Innovation Road near Munsan IC on Local Road No. 1009 between Innovation City and Munsan-eup, which is experiencing chronic traffic congestion due to bottlenecks, to inspect the site.
According to Assemblyman Jeong, although this section of the road has already been expanded and opened, the bottleneck in this area is worsening due to the increase in traffic volume following the completion of the Innovation City development project, as well as the rise in vehicles traveling from Dodong area via the old Namhae Expressway toward Changwon direction.
He added, “Compared to the increased traffic volume, the condition of the roads connecting to the main arterial road remains the same as before, failing to reflect the increased traffic volume. Additionally, the signal system is set up in a general manner without analyzing the traffic volume, which disrupts the flow of traffic,” emphasizing that an objective and professional diagnosis must precede any measures.
Assemblyman Jeong stated, “It is the duty of elected officials to listen to the voices of citizens and improve reality,” and pledged, “I will meticulously address even the smallest inconveniences faced by citizens without neglect.”

Meanwhile, Assemblyman Jeong has been assigned to the Education Committee of the 12th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Assembly, where he is expected to address various educational issues in the region, including the establishment of a high school in Jinju Innovation City, as well as engage in policy legislative activities aimed at the development of the underdeveloped western Gyeongnam area, drawing attention to his future endeavors.
