Gyeonggi-do Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters, 7 Cases of Legal Violations in First Half Referred to Prosecution
599 Sites Caught: 7 Cases Booked, 76 Fines Imposed, 506 Orders Issued
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gyeonggi Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 14th that "as a result of the fire safety patrol inspections in northern Gyeonggi during the first half of this year, 7 violations of laws and regulations were detected and strictly dealt with."
From January to June this year, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted intensive inspections on a total of 3,757 locations, including 1,055 neighborhood living facilities and 982 complex buildings in the northern region, identifying deficiencies at 599 sites. They took actions including 7 cases of prosecution, 76 fines, 506 orders for corrective measures, and 56 notifications to relevant agencies.
Among these, 7 cases involving unauthorized handling and use of hazardous materials were referred to the prosecution, and 76 serious violations such as 37 cases of defective evacuation and fire prevention facilities and 23 cases of blocked fire facilities were fined.
Additionally, 13 cases of illegal parking around fire facilities and 56 cases of violations of building laws were reported to the respective city and county authorities.
Starting this month, when the vacation season begins, focused inspections are also being conducted on lodging facilities, training centers, and cultural and assembly facilities.
