According to the Presidential Office, Yoon Seong-yong, the Chief Curator of the National Museum of Korea, was appointed as the Director of the National Museum of Korea.
Director Yoon graduated from Kyungpook National University (Department of History) and completed a master's degree at the same university's graduate school, and also completed doctoral coursework.

Director Yoon served as a curator, senior curator, and head of the Children's Museum team at the National Museum of Korea, as well as the Chief Curator of the National Daegu Museum, and previously served as the Director of the National Folk Museum of Korea. His published papers include "Artifacts of the Seokgatap Pagoda at Bulguksa Temple," "Development and Utilization of Educational Programs at National Museums," "History and Culture of Goguryeo," and "Korean Culture Seen Through Museum Exhibits."
