Gwangju Seo-gu Council Conducts 'Anti-Corruption Education' for Staff and Council Members

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae) announced on the 12th that it conducted anti-corruption education for 13 members of the 9th Seo-gu Council and all staff of the council secretariat.

The education, which lasted for two hours and was conducted by a specialist instructor in the field of anti-corruption (Kim Seong-su), covered overall topics and cases related to clean legislative activities, including the Act on Prevention of Conflict of Interest, anti-corruption education, and the Code of Conduct for Public Officials.

Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae stated, "It seems timely that anti-corruption education was conducted for Seo-gu Council members and all staff of the council secretariat in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Prevention of Conflict of Interest for Public Officials, which has been fully implemented since May this year." She added, "The 9th Seo-gu Council promises to promote transparent legislative activities based on integrity and fairness that the residents can trust."

Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Council plans to open the 305th extraordinary session at the end of this month to listen to the administrative direction of the 8th elected district government and handle general agenda items, marking the start of full-scale legislative activities.
