Yun Byeong-tae, Mayor of Naju, Checks Progress of Campaign Promises at Work Report Meeting
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Yoon Byung-tae, mayor of Naju, Jeollanam-do, held the first full departmental work briefing session of the 8th elected term and embarked on full-scale city administration aimed at a "livable and happy Naju, a leading top Naju."
The city announced on this day that from the 12th, it will hold the "2022 Second Half Major Work and Pledge Implementation Plan Briefing" over two days at the city hall's large conference room, presided over by Mayor Yoon Byung-tae.
The briefing on the first day will be attended by the vice mayor, heads of bureaus and offices, directors, and team leaders, covering the General Affairs Bureau and Future Strategy Industry Bureau, and on the 13th, it will proceed in order with the Safety City Construction Bureau, Agricultural Technology Center, offices, and health center.
The session will cover 330 major tasks for the second half of the year from a total of 33 departments, as well as the implementation plans of 28 departments regarding 103 pledge tasks across 7 major areas of the 8th elected term.
Mayor Yoon plans to diagnose issues in key departmental tasks and seek rational solutions through discussions, while checking budget acquisition, phased implementation plans, and feasibility to ensure the successful promotion of pledge projects.
The city has established seven major strategies under the vision of building a "Global Small Giant City Naju with a population of 200,000" for the 8th elected term: ▲ Revitalization of culture, tourism, and sports linked to the old downtown and Yeongsan River ▲ Sustainable agriculture and vibrant rural communities ▲ Completion of Bitgaram Innovation City as a self-sufficient city full of pride ▲ Establishment of a future advanced science city foundation leading the new energy industry ▲ Creation of a premium education city ▲ A welfare community city where everyone is happy ▲ A city hall that works properly and has changed drastically.
The pledges consist of 14 tasks and 103 detailed projects under these seven strategies.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "Please prioritize performance administration for citizens, participatory administration by citizens, and principled administration toward citizens, and strive to establish problem-solving administration that finds solutions through ingenuity."
He added, "Next month, please do your best to build a preemptive quarantine and medical system in preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19, as well as to minimize human and property damage caused by summer heatwaves and wind and flood disasters by conducting prior inspections of major facilities and implementing natural disaster countermeasures."
