Gwangju University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Sign Agreement to Promote Academic Exchange
Cooperative Talent Development Including Establishment of Joint Program for 4-Year Electrical and Electronic Engineering Major
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 11th that it has signed a business agreement to promote academic exchange with Nanchang Institute of Technology in China.
The agreement ceremony held online was attended by President Kim Dongjin, Graduate School Dean Kim Gap-yong, and Planning Director Kim Hwang-yong from Gwangju University, while Nanchang Institute of Technology was represented by President Bu Su-yeon, Vice President Deng Yongchun and Dean of the School of Electronics and Telecommunications, Vice President Jo Pa and Dean of the School of International Exchange.
According to the agreement, the two universities will establish a joint program for the 4-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering major, sharing excellent educational resources and cooperating to nurture high-quality applied talents.
In particular, they plan to build mutual cooperation in educational planning, training methods, and curriculum design to ensure students receive successful education, and to promote various exchange activities such as faculty dispatch.
Bu Su-yeon, President of Nanchang Institute of Technology, said, “This agreement is the first step for both universities to advance their exchange. It will be an opportunity for development and progress in all areas,” adding, “We will actively cooperate in various fields such as talent cultivation and international exchange.”
Kim Dongjin, President of Gwangju University, stated, “I hope both universities will mutually develop through a successful partnership,” and added, “As president, I will actively support the education, research, and academic exchange related to the relevant disciplines to achieve the goal of nurturing professional talents.”

Meanwhile, Nanchang Institute of Technology was established in May 1999 and was named Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology Vocational College in April 2001 after approval by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. Later, in May 2005, it was upgraded to Nanchang Institute of Technology, the first private university in Jiangxi Province, after approval by the Ministry of Education.
