Application Open for 'Excellence in Reading Management Certification' for Workplaces in the Republic of Korea
Sixteen Companies and Institutions Designated as Reading-Friendly Management Entities
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is accepting applications for the "Excellent Workplace for Reading Management in Korea" certification from companies and institutions nationwide until August 12. This system certifies and rewards companies and institutions that practice reading-friendly management annually to promote a culture of reading within the workplace. Starting with twenty organizations in 2014, a total of 131 have been certified up to last year. Certified institutions and companies receive a certificate issued in the name of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Reading culture programs such as visiting "Meet the Author" events and customized reading management consulting for each institution are also provided. The Ministry conducts self-assessments, on-site inspections, and a review by a judging committee, and will announce sixteen certified organizations in October. Newly certified small and medium-sized enterprises will receive a certain amount of support for book purchases. For more details, please refer to the "DokseoIN(IN)" website.
