Goodoc Launches Nationwide Hospital Reservation Concierge Service... "Creating a Waiting-Free Medical Environment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Digital healthcare platform Goodoc has launched a reservation concierge service for all hospitals in Korea, aiming to create a no-wait medical environment. This is the second healthcare super app platform strategy introduced six months after the renewal launch of its non-face-to-face medical service in February.
Through the Goodoc app concierge service, users can now request medical appointment reservations in advance at all hospitals nationwide. The company expects that the Goodoc concierge service will contribute to improving convenience and time efficiency for both patients and doctors by establishing a no-wait hospital treatment environment.
The existing Goodoc hospital reservation service was based on integration with electronic medical record (EMR) software commonly used in the industry, which limited it to specific regions and specialties. The newly introduced hospital reservation concierge service by Goodoc starts from a paradigm shift to a non-integrated method aimed at comprehensive care across the entire network of hospitals nationwide. As long as the hospital supports an advance reservation system, patients can now receive hospital treatment without waiting time anywhere in the country through the Goodoc hospital reservation service.
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the average waiting time for patients visiting hospitals for treatment is known to be 14.6 minutes. However, the perceived waiting time during hospital visits can be longer, and more importantly, the unpredictability of waiting times can reduce patients’ willingness to visit hospitals, potentially delaying the optimal timing for treatment, the company explained.

Jinseok Lim, CEO of Goodoc, stated, “Goodoc is creating services that connect offline and online medical care in a hybrid manner, allowing patients to visit hospitals without waiting and conveniently manage their prognosis through non-face-to-face treatment during follow-up visits, thereby enhancing the connection between doctors and patients.” He added, “As the healthcare market size and nationwide health management habits are increasing compared to before COVID-19, Goodoc plans to grow into a healthcare super app that manages the entire treatment and medical journey based on data such as prescription records and medication management, keeping pace with the growing demand and market.”
